VENTURES
The Avant-Garde Club at PTVAIM is formed to encourage new and refreshing ideas of young entrepreneurs and support them to transform their ideas into successful ventures.
In the 20th century, economist Joseph Schumpeter (1883-1950) focused on how the entrepreneur's drive for innovation and improvement creates upheaval and change. Schumpeter viewed entrepreneurship as a force of "creative destruction." The entrepreneur carries out "new combinations," thereby helping render old industries obsolete. Established ways of doing business are destroyed by the creation of new and better ways to do them. Business expert Peter Drucker (1909-2005) took this idea further, describing the entrepreneur as someone who actually searches for change, responds to it, and exploits change as an opportunity.
The basic characteristics of entrepreneurs are as follows:
- Self confident and multi-skilled.
- Confident in the face of difficulties and discouraging circumstances.
- Innovative skills.
- Results-oriented.
- Risk-taker.
- Totally committed.
- Hard worker, energetic and single-minded.
Mission is to enable entrepreneurs:
- Showcase their innovative and dynamic ideas that can drive the economy.
- Network with other emerging entrepreneurs and business leaders.
- Build further linkages to the investment community and,
- Receive mentoring and strategic business support from our experts.
Entrepreneurship has been identified as one of the key drivers to the economic revitalization of our region. In addition to turning aspiring entrepreneurs into successful business owners, we hope that AGC will help stimulate the economy over time. People looking to start or grow a new business can take support of AGC club.
